An unusual armour helmet known as the Pig-face helmet.
Over the years, Medieval fighters yearned for a more secure helmet that wouldn't rattle around their head in battle. Thus, this close-fit helm was designed in the late 13th Century. Thanks to its long snouted appearance it became known as the Hounskull or Pig-face bascinet. The conical top was designed to deflect blows to the head away from the body.
This is manufactured from steel and can be worn with suitable internal padding. Approx weight 2.5 kg/5½lbs
