25 Albums That Rocked Your World: hardback book

You know that old pub argument: what are the best 25 albums of all time? Well this 300 page hardback book is Chris Charlesworth's contribution to the melange of opinion that makes up not necessarily your own best list but certainly 25 albums worthy of serious listening and consideration or those that sold in such prodigious qualtities that they just have to be considered for pure volume eg Abba Gold. Chris Charlesworth is the Editor-in-Chief of Omnibus Press and a former News Editor and US Editor of Melody Maker. He has contributed to numerous magazines in the US and UK and written books on The Who, Pete Townshend, Deep Purple, Cat Stevens, Slade and David Bowie. In 1995, at Townshend's request, he compiled and co-produced The Who's 4-CD boxed set 30 Years of Maximum R&B and was subsequently involved in the wholesale upgrade of The Who's back catalogue for remastered CDs. He lives in Surrey. The writing is by many different authors who have contributed to the total that is a joy to read and may provoke vigorous discussion.

Some of the albums discussed include Dylan's Blonde on Blonde, Pink Floyd's Dark Side, Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run, Nirvana's Nevermind, Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water, Led Zeppelin's IV, Beach Boys Pet Sounds, Radiohead's OK Computer, Sex Pistols' Never Mind The Bollocks, Michael Jackson's Thriller, Bob Marley's Catch A Fire, Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland, Derek & The Dominos (Clapton et al) Layla and other assorted lovesongs, Beatles' Sgt Pepper...th elist goes on.

No liability is accepted for any injuries sustained as a result of the fights over why any particular album is included or missed from the list!
